Whta a hectic+stressful+stress-free day. X3
Earlier today, I went for the monbukagakusho scholarship test. Same venue as last year. Arrived @ bout 810am-ish, and the place is already facing traffic problems. Must be the church nearby as well. Reached there just in time to received a 'karine どこ?' from el. She was practically standing in front of me and I didn't notice, so it was abit of a surprise when she turned back and both of us faced a o__o other. XP
English, as usual, was one heck of weird. Weird questions in funny contexts, and the format reminds me of the PMR BM paper. But all in all, this one was comparatively the easiest compared to the rest. ~____~ Suddenly I find myself face to face with a sentence from one of the Harry Potter books, a very philosophical article on reasoning, unconnected facts and explanations and some other very VERY unusual sentences. I agree with el; Japan is a weird country. Its people have weird obsessions which constitutes the population, and as a result, they have to set very weird question papers. @___@ I was so sleepy from helping my parents with the income tax form that I didn't realize I wrote the wrong ref. number until I checked it at the end of the test. *sighs in relief*
initial 'depressed' level (heeey that makes it the 'Initial D' level XD): 1%
Math (B). GAAAAAH this was the start of a very steep uphill climb or a drastic downward recline in confidence. Whichever it was, it wasn't a great feeling. I don't know of a shortcut to calculate 30 iterations with increasing X value, and all the formulas for calculating volumes/areas of 2-d and 3-d objects were only half-accessed by my dysfunctional pathetic brain. The log questions and stuff were a frantic attempt with some of the most bizzare numbers the mathematical world has yet to see. T___T
'd' level: 37%
Chemistry was....oh thank you 神様ポクテ様 and especially jyan whom I borrowed the organic chemistry notes from - they were my saviour in my darkest hour. XDXDXD As to how much I actually managed to absorb, I leave that to providence *praypray* Of course, I forgot what elements when mixed in some other solution produces what kind of result, or if it has precipitations and the like. Most of the calculation questions were all *vomits a bloody waterfall that can challenge the Niagara Falls* too ugly to even think about. I didn't feel all that lost compared to last year, which I consider some form of improvement, even if it's just 0.00000001%. Every little bit counts, after all.
'depressed level at this point': 68%
Physics was easily the WORST paper of the day. This one was really and truly a tembak-fest. I really forgot ALOT of stuff, and there was stuff I've never even heard about. >___< must be some STPM-related physics. This time it really was my fault for not reading up. And I seriously regret not keeping my Physics notes from last year. I'm sure it would have helped. *wants to shoot self* I relied on my rather screwed up logic to answer the paper, taking the entire paper in a very general view. I was constantly guessing explanations to my answer, mostly starting with phrases like "By right...", "Usually if this happens then..." and an occasional "This should be the case since..."
right now *sigh*: 95%
In the Japanese Language paper, there are 3 papers; A, B and C. Thy are of increasing difficulty (by this I mean an increasing number of kanji which are as alien to me as hieroglyphics). There was also this really cute article on bubbles, which I thought was weird (remember how I was saying how weird the English paper was? -cut+paste here- but still...cute XD) Well, the first paper was kind of fun to do. Mostly in hiragana, it was actually okay to do, except for the kanji which I usually suck at anyway. The only references to kanji I read most often are in lyrics or the occasional raws I come across when surfing or reading manga. For the second paper, I could only bring myself to do the first half. The second half had a decent sprinkling of kanji which would result in a splitting headache (to accumulate on my already aching brain from the 4 earlier papers) enough to instill fear in a mediocre learner of the language. And I also noticed that el had already left the hall...which was easily a bad sign cause she actually takes classes and is easily better than I am. I tried to soldier on though, at least for another 10 minutes trying to dechiper kanji. XP The third paper...I don't even want to think of it, nor did I seriously attempt to read all that mind-boggling kanji, For all I know, it could be written in Chinese. Yes, I'm a partial 'banana', not too proud of it, but no regrets about it. XD
And with that, I ended the test at about 4pm. Had a lift from el's parents back~ I'm really thankful for that since mom and dad were busy throughout the day. And for some reason mom kept on asking if I needed her to pick me up later right after I explained that el's parents were gonna send me back. *shrugs* Funny how she has short-term memory when it isn't needed, and when she's angry, she suddenly remembers EVERY wrongdoing. Oh well.
To top off my day, my relatives came over for dinner. Having the gang of hyper girls (ashley, audrey, eva, ellie & esther) and the only guy (sean) meant my room was gonna be turned upside down and inside out, lots of screaming and jumping, lots of eva leading aud and ash around the house and some funny battles in action. How I love them so~ they are a constant source of entertainment. Usually they're abit shy when they initially set foot in the house, but they start to loosen up only after dinner.

*ahem*
Having that said, it was ALSO fun to catch them on reel (literally). Must remember to have a camcorder handy whenever possible when they're around.
This time, if they're not busy with the aforementioned activities, then the elder onces are stuck with Chuzzle & the younger ones continue wreaking havoc in my room, A session of hide-n-seek, singing, giving 'horseback' rides and 'snail express' rides to the 3 special customers, soft toy wars and feather boa abuse also made available by them.
*clickety clicking off my brain for the day*
