of ants in the anthill

This week has to be the most hellish of all the weeks here. I mean of the 5 weeks that I've been here. *takes deep breath*

Out of 3 assignments and 1 programming practical, I now have one final assignment to hand in on Friday, and all my troubles(for the week) will be taken care of. Oh how I wish for Friday to pass even faster! No wonder I love this day of the week. But then again....there's the following week's programming practical. *sobs hysterically*

Okay, I promised to give a little run on my uni acquaintances. I just hang out with them a fair bit, but I found that they're great fun. Especially since we're all quite lost in classes, we kind of keep together. And there's the friend's friends that I've gotten to know too, who are very amusing.*takes another deep breath*Who shall I start with? There are only 2 other girls in the circle, Sarah and Penny, and the rest...well, there's only one other gender that's straight in the human genome.

Penny is a pretty and easygoing girl, even though I can see the programming practicals are getting to her. Most of the time to be found lounging about @ MUSA playing pool and will always be with Rachel whenever possible. Has caught on to the "What the Hell?!?!" disease from me (who most probably got it from akagami) and often states how often she would like to bash her computer up but I don't think she actually does it. She's somewhat blur XD but that's beside the point that she's fun to hang out with. Like everyone else, will complain of feeling sleepy in Comp Systems lecture and being hungry.

Rachel is synonymous with Penny. Is alot like Penny (don't call them best friends for nothing~) and when they're together they are hilarious. The last time I remember hanging out with them, they were slopping over a plate of fried rice, and blaming each other for their own sloppiness. XD

Sarah the Singaporean is fun when she’s on high, usually on a Friday during the CompOrg tutorials. Period. XD She has this fascination of ‘cool, dark and mysterious guys’ which I feel you can only get out of a movie. Most of these type of people in real life hide in the shadows and don’t really wish to be known. XPXP Just too bad our practical sessions don’t click and you come later than me to lecture, so you don’t sit with me. Or prolly the other way round.

Yk (gasp! another YK! Has the same lame attribute the DU lameass has, but the DU one looks better, and is way lamer.) is pretty good with programming since he has external help, which in a way is good so that he can teach us. So far is the first person to exchange messages with at 1AM asking me how to do the programming practical while I'm trying to sleep. By the way, this is just to make him feel guilty if he ever reads this. *eevil laughs*

Darren is, like I mentioned in my previous post.....funny. This guy also bears some resemblance to the DU YK in terms of random movements. Not as extreme, though. The first guy I've met in a really REALLY long while that plays table tennis, not as a casually cacat player, but as a player with considerable skill. *whistles* Rare. But this guy has his own quirks, like I don't know how he freaking hell stuffs 800GB full. I don't even have an eighth of his storage space. @__@ And he can be really idiotic, which is amusing, especially after he pathetically retaliates with a hurt expression.

Alex is that one guy who can’t seem to keep his eyes open in classes YET he can be the top computer science student of MUFY last year and still be able to do his programming practicals. AAAAAAAAGGGGHHH Why do these genre of beings exist?! And the best thing is that he’s the one running around asking people what just happened in the lecture that he slept through. So yes, it’s quite interesting to see him sleep. Just like the avian species, he can probably sleep while standing on a tree or something, since he does it flawlessly. There must be some kind of skill to do this. Hmmm….

Jonathan (another one) doesn't seem willing to impart his knowledge on to us lost sheep. All that talk of plagiarism must have gotten to him. Typically nice guy, but I never mixed around him to know enough. He has a trace of huanmiao-ness, since he rarely talks and is academically advanced. Just that huanmiao is a pretty good person to turn to for help, since he DOES help XD even though I didn't actually do so, but experienced it second-hand. XP

irrelevant sidenote: somehow, huanmiao reminds me of Mr Chong. XPXPXPXP

Jordan is the very very chinese guy, with phrases like "I'm SCHWEATING la..." complete with the 3 fingers 'combing hair' action (quote ai-chan), and "(insert some random sentence here which ends with -in the there- or "not the understand". I'm sure there are many more, but I'm not trying my brain processing speed right now X3)" which can actually get to you if you listen to it or see it typed one too many times. Owns 2 forums which depend on his 56k modem. Always @ the foyer by 730am (which is about the time I get to uni) so I sit with him and chat for abit. Saying thus, his company is invaluable. Also has banana cake and a cup of coffee every morning as a breakfast staple. A little while after this, his gang of friends will start to appear, like chengwai and tsengyang (there are more but I don't really know them - yet) who I've come to known (some of them anyway).

Calvin reminds me of Andrew (the winanga-li photoshop whiz who also is one of the top students of SAM '05) since they're both somewhat similar in character and in physical features. Just that Calvin is probably more outgoing and Andrew is more 'kayu' (quote eley. Was reminded of the photo shoot for the magazine; "My god you look the same in all the photos...so Kayu.." or something like that. And as expected, if you make a moving storyboard with those photos taken, Andrew would be at the exact position in the exact same pose. XD Ok, so that was an extaggeration.) Calvin reminds me of a chipmunk somehow X3 but he's more of a 'little kid' cute. And coincidentally, is part of the graphics department of the uni newsletter.

Then there's chengwai who's very very talkative, crazy and very very fun to poke at. Finally I have a punching bag to test her mentality. XDXDXD after being somewhat deprived last year of practice, you don't know how thankful I am. XD She's not dumb, she just takes a long while to catch on. But she's really funny and kind of forces my brain to wake up with all her chatter just to get back at her for the fun of it.

And the engineering guy who seriously looks like he's balding. No offense dude, but I think you know it yourself. Tsengyang is it? *hah chengwai this correction is specially done for YOU* This guy seriously has too much free time; attending economics lectures even though he doesn't take it.... >_> And his most recent stint is to...*thinks* drop an egg with newspaper (the design is up to the group) 5 floors down without breaking the egg. So fuuunnn~ I bet the place stank after all the groups trial-and-errored the experiment. Another funny dude who is a photography buff (maybe you should get to know him sometime hou~ if you guys meet and I'm there to intro you both)

hmmm, what can I say about Alvin? If you try to insert a System.out.println("I am a good boy.") in this program it will return an error. wahahahah~ Internal joke. This guy, is.... hmm....haven't properly evaluated him yet. Probably another reasonably chinese chinese guy (especially the blonde) who is very focused in being the 'president' of the gay club. El, this guy is not your kind of yaoi material, so don’t bother stalking this one.

Oh yes, Ammar. Also can be found @ MUSA playing pool while waiting for his girlfriend. For some reason, his boxer shorts are always in plain view whether you’re sitting in front of him, behind him or even beside him. Not that I have a fetish for looking at it, it’s practically being thrust into view. >___________< But that aside, this guy is seriously slacking. Ask him whether he’s done (insert some random subject homework here that’s due in about 2 days’ time) and his response would be, “Haih, I’ll just start tomorrow.” Ah, the sweet smell of an idle mind.

Then there’s Zhangzhe who’s the TRUE china Chinese. Doesn’t speak much, but sure knows how to look cool. I’m referring to the other day where Alvin was saying “Wah, that guy looks really cool leh~ carrying his bag over his shoulder with one arm like that…” He looks…abit…like a duck. Just the mouth. @__@ I know, I know, I have this habit of comparing people to animals… >_> Don’t give me that look. It’s actually fun~

Lesson of the day: I mention the phrase ‘programming practical’ A LOT. This is because programming is the bane of our lives. Fun, but yet not fun. *cries*
