今日はいい日です
I'm so happy the rec hall doors were open when I got back @1030AM (skipped web programming tute, the questions look like studious stuff that doesn't need discussion) so I enjoyed myself thoroughly, playing my sheet music straight from 1030am to about 1pm. I'm still not used to sitting on the piano bench which is definitely too high and so my leg was kinda tired from pressing the pedals (since the chair was too high my left leg was in an awkward position when pedaling) when I was finished playing with the piano. Getting better at playing the piano accompaniment for 'Kiss Me Goodbye', and I found the Winter Sonata's 'Memory' amidst my other sheet music! Personally I don't watch much Korean dramas, but I liked that song alot more than the main Winter Sonata theme... forgot what it's called. My faves to play on that rickety untuned upright piano are 'Fisherman's Horizon', 'Zanarkandにて' and 'Blue Fields'. Tried playing some of the FFX-2 pieces but damn, they're really hard.. it was just depressing to see the key signature of the piece. 7 bloody flats, dammit! What key is that?!
And having bacon+cheese spread on toast for lunch was very very nice! XD Just that most people would get freaked by the amount of oil the bacon produced. @___@
After that I went to MidValley with Eileen, Farah & Sharon to get Tina's present.
Well when we got there we were more interested in going shoe-shopping than present-shopping, so we didn't actually sincerely look for her pressie until about 3pm XP (sorry Tina! XP blame Farah for this~~) and I was only too happy to cause I was looking for a pair of boots myself..
I did find a pair of boots I liked! Black ankle-length boots with lace-ups at the back, but the only problem (after I got home and tried them on and looked at every inch of it properly) was that it was a size too big, making it pretty clunky. I guess when I was wearing it at the store the shoe fitted a little better cause I was wearing socks. I'm going back tomorrow to see if I can trade it for another better-fitting pair.

The only thing that I think was really crap was that I definitely wasn't prepared for a speech on why people should vote me. This was basically how it went:
"uhm... ermm.... ermmm...."
*looks at Byron*
*looks at the crowd*
"erm... I don't know what to say...."
I was saved by Byron.
"Basically as a Publicity officer one of the tasks as stated here is that you have to write articles for Nexus, which is like a student magazine, so maybe you could tell us how you as a Publicity Officer would be capable of doing this?"
(Okay, it was definitely less complex than this but it ran somewhere along those lines)
"Well, to tell the truth, last year in Malaysia I had worked with the editorial board before, so I know how it works, what the task actually involves and how to do it well... And by the way I write pretty well myself, you can drop by my blog if you like~"
(omfg I don't know why I said the last part... @______________________@)
And that was it.
I felt so freaking idiotic when I was done.
"What the hell did I just say?!" kept repeating itself over and over in my mind a few times.
I think I was one of the last ones to make a speech... and and and I didn't know I was running for the same positions as Ammie (my mentor)! あああああああ～ but I think she wanted the Publicity Officer post more than I did.
After the speeches and stuff were done, I could see people dashing for the food already... It was so funny to see Farah and the rest rush to the voting booths after Sabrina told them that they could only get to the food if they voted.

As I saw people they were going "I'll vote for you, don't worry!" Which I thought was really really nice of them cause I really wasn't expecting anything much, but it was just comforting to know that people DID really vote for me eheheh. XD

The results weren't that surprising. Alex (the HongKong dude who apparently can play by ear really well) was made Secretary, and Sabrina as Finance, Dom as the PR (poor dude had a sudden gastric attack and so he was seen still clutching his abdomen), and Ammie as Publicity. Hehehe XD yaay my mentor voted for me and I voted for my mentor! XD
This means I'll have to make it a real point to really schedule my time out. I did already draw the table out already, just haven't filled it in yet.
