lunch @ Harry’s

**this is a backlog**

Dropped by Tina’s to see if I could tinker with her keyboard. Turns out that her style of learning is absolutely different from the conventional style of learning musical instruments. Even though she can really play some good music on her keyboard, she can’t read a single note, key signatures, time signatures or even distinguish the middle C from the D adjacent to it. I’m impressed. On the other hand, I can read music, but my playing skills are like shit. *sigh* XP More practice @ the South Rec Hall for me I guess.

Harry is the Pro-Vice Chancellor (aka PVC) of the Gippsland campus. He invited us international students to his house for lunch.

We took about an hour to get there though, cause the GPS Byron was using was absolutely screwed up. So for most of the trip we were making fun of Lambert and lipkai, playing that video Arjun took over and over and over.

Harryさんの家はとってもキレイです!And I seriously mean it! His house is somewhere in the really outback area, but it is more of a holiday house than anything else! A very beautiful country house with a breathtaking view from his back yard.

Lunch was great too! Honey chicken, chicken kebabs, potato salad, garden salad with feta cheese, snowpea cakes (basically little vegan patties made of snow peas), and cheese and crackers. XDXD You couldn’t possibly get this fabulous food anywhere else. Big plus was that it was made by Harry and his wife! XDXDXDXD Dessert was Rocky Mountain, or at least that was what I think it’s called…it’s like a kind of chewy chocolate sweet, prolly has nougat and nuts and jelly bits in it and it was really really really good!

side note #1:
Beat Wayne in a game of 4-in-a-row. よし! XD

side note #2:
Ken freaked the hell out of Selenge by putting that gargantuan plastic fly on her shoulder. That fly now is infamous for its involvement in a heinous crime. Ken felt really guilty about it after though.

side note #3:
There’s a really really huge mushroom growing on the left side of Harry’s back yard! I guess if Mario ever ate one of the mushrooms that made him grow huge it was probably the size of this mushroom.

After we had feasted enough, Harry took all of us out to go koala-hunting! Well not really shooting them down, just sighting them. First one to spot gets a bottle of Koala Juice, which is actually a kind of wine. Harry’s been going around telling people about pureed koalas, and Ming had the audacity to think that Koala Juice was actually like a preserved drink like those snake wine where they put a dead snake to ferment… *feels disgusted at the thought*

side note #4:
Saw this really quaint postbox.

And that’s Se Mun trying to communicate with it.

That aside, Surekha won the koala-spotting contest.

Walked a little further where we saw horses and bulls! Here’s only the horse though, it was an attention-craving thing XD

And a really really really really cute Siberian Husky!

I think it was Lambert who was going around saying “Run, run! It’s a wolf, and its going to eat you!” >____________> *slaps Lambert for his idiotic comment*

And a *slapslap* for Byron for calling it ‘pundek’. Dumbass. What a word to randomly pop out of his head to name a dog by.

Soon after we walked back, where we (Surekha, Ken & I) played some Russian TicTacToe (okay okay, I was just thinking of how similar it is to Russian chess where you don’t have time to think before making a move… we were just brainlessly playing TicTacToe with only 1 second ‘thinking’ time) I love the TicTacToe set though, it’s comprised of… black & white sheep! XD Who can resist that?!

While we were doing that Harry was teaching the rest how the 4-in-a-row worked.

Didn’t wanna stay cooped in the house when the outside was so enticing, so I got led away from the house by the really cooling breeze and warm sun. I was enjoying the sky, the wind, the air, the surroundings and the sun so much that I didn’t realize that everyone had left until Tina called me.

Tina: “Hello, where are you?!”
Me : “I’m still at the house, outside in the back yard.”
Tina: “WHAT?! We’re on our way back already! Wait wait, I’ll get the driver to turn around and pick you up. Just stay there and don’t worry alright…”
Me : “Okay. Whoops. XP”

Inwardly, I was thinking “WTF?!” But at the same time I was laughing at myself for being such an idiot. Not to mention feeling super-embarrassed when Harry’s wife went “Oh? You’re still here?” when she saw me running up the back yard.

God damn embarrassing.

When I did get back on the bus, I asked them how they realized I wasn’t there.

“Oh, we only started brainstorming once we realized there was an empty seat in the bus.”

(inwardly) “………………..”
