the easter break.

was pretty fun. I liked the freedom auntie ming gave me (although it could be bordering on misuse since I come back pretty late whenever there are dinner invites) and I absolutely love her place! =P

Friday:
Morwell was practically a ghost town. There were cars, sure, but there was NOONE to be seen on the streets. It was freaky alright. Butbutbut if it weren't for this I wouldn't have the chance to take photos of Morwell... Well, this stretch of road is the Commercial Road, and the area generally is called Morwell CBD (City Business District - I swear I didn't know what it stood for until I thought about it~) The building with the yellow-green thing is the City Council building.

Saturday:
Right. auntie ming & ruby went out to lunch so I went out to take a walk down Bourke St. and have lunch. The bookstores down the street are what bookstores should really be, not the modern ones like Borders or MPH or Popular or kinokuniya or asahiya. The classic bookstore look, with shelves made of dark wood filled to the top with books of all sorts, the shops small enough to make you feel abit claustrophobic. Well I know I did dream of owning a bookstore before, and if I ever did I would make it look like these ones.

Sunday:
Went to Southbank with auntie ming, ruby & peter for dimsum lunch. On my way in I saw aipeng and her parents leaving. What a coincidence! The dimsum at that place isn't too bad, I like the egg tarts cause they use the flaky pastry crust and not the biscuit crust.

Walked to the Art Market nearby after lunch and some of the stuff there were quite nice! But of course, it was pretty damn expensive. And and and there was this busker dressed as an alien, dancing to very cyberpunk music which was pretty amusing. Walked past the Hamer Hall and thought "T_T I'm not going for Eminence T_T"

For dinner we were supposed to go to auntie yen's house, but but but!!! We were too engrossed with fiddling with the iPod and this other car zoomed by and hit the side of the car. A black Golf (the other party) collided with a white Golf (that's us)... no one got hurt, luckily, but the car, omg the cars.... the black Golf had an ugly result of a case of paint trade (one ugly white streak), and the driver's door couldn't close properly. The bumper of the white Golf was knocked off (well the left side anyway, so we decided to remove the bumper altogether so that it wouldn't drag along the road) So we thought that the best course of action was to go back home, and let her calm her nerves. Dinner was mainly crackers, tortillas, hummus dip, some sweetish dip and wine. XD How luxurious is that~

Watched abit of "Little Britain" which was pretty hilarious (and I know El would really appreciate if she had the chance to watch it) but I don't think we were up for that much gayness. However, to keep in theme with it we ended up watching "The Adventures of Priscilla - Queen of the Desert" or something like that... Can you imagine Mr Smith (from Matrix, or better known as Hugo Weaving) dressed up like THAT?! (Go look for it, I swear its worth a watch)

Monday:
Went out with Sebastian, Steph and Nicole for the day. Steph is a professional shopper from the looks of it. But for a guy I was quite amazed Sebastian put up with it for a whole day! @__@ Apparently he's got loads of practice by having to accompany both his mom and his sis on their more frequent than not shopping trips.

Also went to Minotaur and wooowww this is like the closest these people can get to otaku heaven... well almost. It's a mix of both western graphic novels and Japanese manga (well obviously the Viz & Tokyopop types since not alot of people can read Japanese) and a pretty good selection of it too.

At some point in the afternoon we ended up @ Max Brenner's for a spot of chocolate and where we met a friend of Nicole's who apparently also knows choryeow! Forgot what his name was though. So since Nicole went off with her friends for dinner, we kinda had a swop and I ended up going to Uncle Steven's place for dinner! XDXDXD Curry on the menu, who can resist that! Obviously I had to tuck in, I had missed it so! Last time I cooked it was probably 2 weeks back. =P

Night-time trains aren't actually as dodgy as they're reputed to be, well at least that was what I thought when I was on the train back. Obviously my parents had lots to protest about, but I got back okay, not like I'm looking for trouble or anything.

Tuesday:
Well our main intention on going to the City was to go to Minotaur and have Trampoline. I remembered that I still had that Pancake Parlour voucher I hadn't used, so that was our first stop for the day XDXDXD We were originally looking for Trampoline, but we didn't find the shop so we just went to Pancake Parlour instead. X3X3 I miss pancakes! I mean, I hadn't eaten any since I left Clayton almost 2 months ago~~ We stuffed ourselves full with it, and washed it down with lemonade. X3X3

On reaching Minotaur, all I remember us doing was to drool and drool and drool and also giving her recommendations on what other titles to pick up apart from inuyasha and ranma and basilisk (wahahaha she has good taste, she likes it too! XD Well that was after I introduced it to her...)

Wednesday:
Went out with Sharon to Smith St.. just to see if we could shop for stuff. Stuff here is relatively cheaper (especially for branded stuff, namely Adidas & Nike) and so since I haven't had the chance to go there I dragged Sharon along for company. Bought 2 pairs of shorts and a jacket (I don't think I'll ever be able to wean off wearing my sloppy 6-year-old windbreaker since I love it too much, but at least I have an alternative)

Later in the evening, went to aipeng's for dinner of sukiyaki. Well actually I rather call it nabe, seeing all the miscallaneous stuff we put in it like all the pork balls (eh those were really good okay), alot of mushrooms (courtesy of sherlyn) and finished up with strawberries (yesyesyes I contributed this! XD) Yet another thing I miss from home; steamboat! XDXD Seen alot of people I hadn't seen for a long time, like Jon Ngan, Joseph, Sherlyn (!!! I haven't seen her in ages!), suewen, celine, chailee, and and and most of all (I swear I haven't seen her since I left high school) karyi. I had met Mel in KL before I left, and I chanced jianwen on a tram heading to town from Lygon while my parents were here.

We had abit of a camwhoring session, but most of it is with sherlyn and her very nice nikon dslr. I'll get it from her after she uploads it.

Played on the Wii at her place too! XDXD Waaa it's so fun!! Karyi and jianwen were like maniacs playing all the sports games, frantically swinging the controller about~ that was fun to watch X3 Joseph had to warn them to wrap the strap around their wrists so that the controller wouldn't end up flying at the tv (which by the way is a very nice plasma tv)

Once we managed to herd everyone out of aipeng's, we headed down to Lygon for gelato. X3X3 uwaaaa this one's really really good! I like what I had, which was a scoop of Bailey's and a scoop of honeycomb-flavoured gelato X3 Oddly enough, there was a durian-flavoured gelato. I don't know what that will taste like, but I remember someone saying it was an actually decent flavour. Hmm, maybe I'll try that next time. We didn't realize the shop was actually closing until someone realized we were the only table outside the shop and the lights had been dimmed. The night was pretty cold, so at that point of time I regretted not bringing a jacket, but at the same time I was glad I wore my boots; wouldn't do to get my entire body shivering. XP Half a body shivering was better than all, won't you agree?

Thursday:
Today was the all-day ISO training camp @ Clayton. Which also meant I'd be seeing most of the crew again; dear mentor, nick, wayne, byron, dom, sab, alex & alex (they actually ARE 2 different people, but its just fun to call out "Alex!" and see them both respond)

It was practically a leadership camp. I have nothing bad to say about it, it was educational... you know, they talked about what leaders should be like and all that jazz. That was one half of the day.

The 2nd half of the day reinforces my beliefs on why I don't like political or pseudo-political events and politics AT ALL. I mean, I understand their passion and concern for the betterment of the society's for which they fight for, but really you can tell from that discussion alone that nothing much is going to be done. Plain and simple, I'm badmouthing them. I never had a good impression of them, and I don't think I'll live to. But it's not entirely their fault; the PVC appeared (to me) like he was just brushing off their issues like how you flick scabs off your skin once you've peeled them. And then again the heads should have gotten together way earlier and talked about the issues that they were gonna discuss, and at least make a firmer stand. They appeared abit confused to me, I don't know.

After byron drove us to Melbourne we parted ways, they to have dinner somewhere, and me to liyen's for dinner. Her place wasn't that hard to find seeing that I've been there before, but in the dark things are always different. Liyen's been having a craving for curry and since her housemates can't really eat spicy stuff between the both of us we had a great time! Cooking the rice was abit of a torture cause we had to wait for it to cook, while looking longingly at the curry and wishing desperately we could devour it without the rice, but that simply wouldn't do because curry won't taste as good without rice (to me, anyway) had ribena too (uwaaa I really haven't had ribena in YEARS! makes me feel so old when I think about it XP)

Friday:
As I was trying to get out of the house to catch the train back to Gippsland...

I realized Ruby had accidentally locked me in the house.

You're definitely going "How the hell can that happen?"

The long and short of it was that the keys that auntie ming loaned me was abit faulty, so I was actually stuck in the house. The front door was locked, and I didn't know how to work the garage door. I was seriously considering climbing the wall... but luckily I didn't have to. XP

  • I love ru's black converse sneakers! They're really a saver, otherwise I'd end up wearing my boots all the time, and seeing how the weather this week's been obviously insane it was a joy to wear. I like them. When I see them again for a nicer price I'll buy them, definitely~
  • I bought a jacket, 2 pairs of shorts and a nice pleated skirt~
  • I had curry twice in the same week! How great is that! Both are home-cooked food, and both tasted great! XD
  • aipeng's place is soooooooo nice...
