Sounds similar to something I thought of before, which sounds like

"If I don't love myself, who else will?"

I am such a self-centered person. Or was it self-critical? In any case, it's always about me. And never about anyone else.

I probably take it too seriously when someone told me once that "if it's meant to be yours, then it will be yours no matter what you do" so I just let things happen, and whether they swing in my favour or not I don't really have a hand in it, so I don't bother doing anything anyway.

In that manner, I watch it come. And I watch it go.
