We spent a good 20 minutes getting rid of the smell which had enveloped the common area of the house and kept the offending trash bin outside as a security measure. After having a whiff of the intense offensive odour my lifespan probably decreased by 20 years. @_@

After a good spray-over of air-freshener it didn't reek as bad. Phew!
