Today...today. humm.
Went to karhorng's place to do this edboard stuff, supposed to finish the front cover. In a way, we did, but in my opinion, it wasn't enough. Mainly cause there weren't enough comps to go round..or did we.. there were 4 laptops, 6 of us.. well in a way we did, but in a way we didn't. bleargh. I'm glad we got something done, though it wasn't much, but we got something done.
This was what caused me to miss a movie with ojimaru. gomen ne~
Woke up late, caused them(chunhowe, andrew, nix) to wait for me a good half hour >_< sorry guys! And, well, it was interesting to see karhorng in pajamas. @_@ I thought he would at least wear shirt and shorts or house gear or whatever, but still.. hehehe. interesting.
Fact of the day #1: he didn't change his clothes for the entire day. ±12hours in pajamas.
Since the theme changed from urban to aboriginal, it was a letdown for me. I was so hoping to do urban cause it was so much easier, interesting and more relevant to the students. Oh well, the reason being winanga-li (yep, that's the magazine name) of aboriginal origin meaning "to remember", therefore urban wouldn't be able to portray its meaning..or something of those lines. sheesh.
It kinda led on to me and chunhowe drawing linearts as the base of the layouts. I liked his lizard. ehehe. Andrew transformed it into a masterpiece. After that though it got us to set layouts based on the lizard.
Nix was the one with the very interesting concepts, but to produce them were something else. @_@ It drove me and him nearly crazy. He had a concept based on the overexposure of photos and waving lights causing it to look like squiggles, and using that we would create a lineart that would look like those squiggles in a single flowing motion and somehow incorporate the title of the cover on the side or something.
So I started on the lineart. I forgot about it being drawn in a single motion so it kinda stopped there. But I got the outline nice and thick. Then I tried making the lines glow for it to look like the squiggly lights. That was enough to drive me nuts. At first I was trying to smudge it, but it turned out to be crap, so nix suggested doing a vector trace, like what andew did for chunhowe's lizard. Ok, I said. So we did. The kangaroo just looked like an ox. The body was just too huge. T_T aihh. So one thing led to another, and somehow we just transformed it into a lizard on a rock with some tungsten glowing effect. @_@
Fact of the day #2: I learned how to use the pen tool! XD thanks so much nix!
And omg Omg OMG andrew is really good at what he does. He's probably the one that's fiddled around with PS more than any of us, since he just weaved in and out of things with just the keyboards, while here I am taking my time with the mouse and meddling around with the functions. Any time of the day when we had problems reaching a certain effect with a picture, or had to create funny backgrounds, we just called him. And in 10 minutes of keyboard shortcutting and mouse-clicking, -voila- the solution was in sight. siiigh. I need more practice.
Fact of the day #3: Andrew is a god with PS! hahahaha~ he's good, I'll readily admit that anytime.
Fact of the day #4: All of us learnt at least one new trick from this session. That's a good thing. =D
Fool of the day: Nix
hahahaha! he was so blur...sometime during the afternoon chunhowe hurriedly pressed the ac remote into his ear telling him to say hi to someone, and he talked to the ac remote~ It was funny, and somehow after that I couldn't stop laughing for five full minutes. Boy did my stomach hurt. I was literally and really really rolling on the ground.
Towards the end of the day though he looked really (I don't know how to explain this; I think he was tired, and a mix of dissatisfaction and hunger) so it was kinda scary. On top of that he had to send me and eevon home. Here, I could see he was tired. Kinda felt guilty that he had to send me home, which is really really out of the way, but then again which was worse; getting sent home by parents and a huge screwing session or this? We had a nice sidetrip that somehow brought us to midvalley, then back to subang, then one huge circle before reaching kj just because of one wrong turn. @_@ poor guy.
mom was pretty ticked off at me not arranging transport home, cause it caused her to stress up and feel angry that I had such bad planning skills I guess. siigh. my bad.
