on the mardi gras
was abit disappointed cause there were no crazy people dressed in just a pretty skirt, heels and heaps of beads.
besides which it would be highly frowned at.
anyway.
The ball was alright, I suppose. Started with me and ammar hanging out at the lobby waiting for yk.. who later called me to say that he's already waiting upstairs. haha so off we went. Hung out for abit, walking around looking for people to take photos with, compliment their outfit and saunter off when we see someone else.
Cw ended up being late cause she parked at Pyramid and then drove her car over to the nearer carpark. We ended up taking alot of pictures. Just because it's fun to do it while they're going on and on speech-ing and boring the tears out of anyone.
There was a fashion show with all the pretty pretty outfits, and I'll say, they looked pretty good. I liked the way they flapped around (literally) cause it made the outfit really stand out. Abit more and they can start a cabaret act. Also there was a performance of a mix of Latin dances, could recognize salsa, merengue, some jazz (abit strange but still nice)... but after doing the New Yorker and carrying girls and flipping them around like some pastry dough one too many times, it wasn't that interesting to watch anymore.
Which led us to taking lots and lots and lots of photos. XD Mostly on Facebook here.
That aside, the food.. hmm it was pretty decent actually.. haha I don't exactly remember what the names of the dishes are.. but I remember I ate some seafood with rice, some of those konnyaku thingies tied up like rope, some lamb which was rather chewy, crusted chicken with tomato sauce, pasta, briyani, aloo gobi... stuff like that. Wasn't in the mood to eat too much.
After that came the nomination of the Mr & Ms Monash. The girl Rachel was really sporting, and spunky, so yay she won! The male.. came as abit of a surprise. Probably because I knew Bob more than the winner, and plus doing a Kelabit war dance to slow emo music beats some crappy air guitar performance (OOT: btw which CANNOT possibly beat Krauser from DMC hahahah! stupid korg likes such stupid animes... but I have to agree its like a mix of Angel densetsu & Beck)
ZZ and chuanchuan disappeared while we were trawling the ballroom looking for other people we knew.. so cw, ammar & I headed to the dance floor to shake our booty abit, all in the name of good clean fun. And out of randomness I decided to dance with the Punjabi-dressed dude whom I remember made an appearance at this year's Cultural Night too.. and he tried to chat me up. Sorry dear this one's taken =P but it was fun anyway.
If one were to exit the ballroom to take a breather, they'd be breathing a whole lot of nicotine. The outside area frigging stank of it, so I'm lucky it didn't stick to my clothes. We (yk, cw, ammar & I) left after awhile after to go to Taj for a drink. By golly there were soooo many dodgy-looking people outside lepaking around the streets so lucky we went in a group. Probably for the Merdeka celebrations or what not. And talked about some very interesting stuff, mostly pertaining to sexuality? Something to do with trannies and hermaphrodites and all.. until korg and dad came to pick me up.
