time for square hats!
Yea I was right on. The yoghurt melts in your mouth and doesn’t taste watery; it’s thick, milky and… tasty.
It’s a big day for korg, it’s his convocation! He gets to wear the robes and the square hat and take those pictures posing with a scroll and every-thing! Sure looked smart, that ‘un did. I kinda regret wearing the black pants, I did, cause it made me look fat <_< Quite abit of click-happy moments abided in that short span of time.
The actual ceremony itself was rather dry since you know how it is with speeches, and there was quite a number of ‘em. The last speech was especially ironic, cause the guy was talking about leisure time and how to fully utilize it, and to me, listening to this definitely wasn’t the best way to do so. <_< But the best thing is that unlike KL where they have this tendency to prepare 5-minute speeches, theirs at longest was about 3 minutes, so before we start dropping off to sleep they’re already done! Bravo, bravo! Of course, the part where everyone’s waiting for, the precious 10 seconds of fame shaking the vice-chancellor’s hand and receiving the scroll was quite fascinating, cause I could just hear all the mispronounced and wrongly called out names due to the Western naming convention (so if your name’s Cecelia Yap Mei Suet you end up with Mei Suet Cecelia Yap which just sounds plain weird) but all taken in good faith anyway.
There was this guy whose name was most likely meant to be spelt as Nikolai but I guess the nurse at the registrar had especially bad ears or something, so his name turned out to be Nicola. So the emcee who had to announce the names of the graduates read the guy’s name, paused a moment, looked at him and said,
“So you’re Nicola?”
pause.
“Er, right. Sorry ‘bout that.”
It must’ve been pretty embarrassing to be the guy.
After the graduation I decided to follow ah ee back to her place in Kingsford, and on the way we stopped by Maroubra beach.
It was breathtaking. Of course, the pictures here taken with my K700i don’t really say much, but if you were there, you’d understand. When’s the last time I seen a beach with such beautiful sand, waves and wind? And there were even surfers enjoying the waves, although not much since it was already 5pm, a time where people usually take their evening walks or have an early dinner.
Giovanna’s a great place to have Italian, although their portions are wildly out of proportion (meaning that the serving portions are HUGE! and creamy too, so you can’t eat too much, especially pasta) and it was great =D Not to mention gelato with very inviting looks, I had Green Apple which is basically gelato encased in green chocolate (so that it looks like a green apple, in case you haven’t figured it out) and cream and a strawberry with a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
Oh, the strawberries here are great! A pity there are no cherries though, they’d be great to have too X3
