on hachikuro

At first glance, hachikuro looked laughable. I didn’t expect it to be so good. Too good, in fact. I want more of it now that I’ve watched it to the end. And how much I’m in love with mayama. I know, I know, he’s really quite the bastard for being cruel to ayu, but the one person you shouldn’t lie to about your feelings is yourself, and he knows that well enough. I really pity ayu, but then again nomiya’s right; she can’t possibly be the one whining forever while mayama goes after rika. Well I agree with miwako when she says nomiya’s a lot like mayama. And just for the record, miwako is EVIL. *laughs nonstop thinking about the various ways she tortures her workmates* The drama part of it really makes you sad for all of them for being so cruel to each other and yet pity them for not being able to reach out for the one they love the most.

The most unpredictable is easily morita, and for that fact alone he’s the most loveable XDXDXD you cannot possibly finish counting the ways morita does what he does his way to all of them, making all of them tear their hair out just on seeing him. He’s also the best singer of them all~ *hears cries of the legions of obasans screaming “SHI-NO-BUUUUUU!!!!” like crazy fangirls* Also, he’s probably the one person in the whole show that really really really really really makes you go “What the…?!” and really mean it. I caught myself really exasperatedly saying it throughout the show, followed by maniacally laughing until my stomach aches.

Takemoto is easily the little lost bird, not knowing where he’s headed and continually freaking himself out due to the fact that he cannot figure out what his future is going to be like. I’m kind of glad that he realized the meaning to his question, as for the answer I don’t think he’s supposed to find it right now, but it’ll come to him in little bits and pieces along the way. I can’t help but want to go on a soul-searching trip like that too sometime.

I don’t know what to make of hagu, really. I just like the way morita makes fun of her. XD But all in all, she’s like the rose being kept in a glass case to prevent from it being wilted. She’s overprotected by Spike-sensei (hahah no that’s not his name, I just call him that cause he really really looks like Spike Spegiel from Bebop) and well, not very well-endowed.

The music is really fitting. I really love the music, and I hope to get all the songs they used in the show, which are mostly Spitz and suga shikao songs which are… really old, and retro sounding. I guess that’s why they used it a lot. The catch is that even though it’s really old (some are from singles/albums as old as 1993) it really matches the mood. X3X3X3 thanks to hachikuro now I think I’m going to be a staunch fan of both Spitz and suga shikao… well maybe Spitz more, their tunes and lyrics are catchier and nicer at the same time. =D

yet another to add on my top faves list~ X3 hachikuro forever!
