recap, recap!
listening to: suga shikao - gogo no Parade
This week has been pretty crap for me. First came Tuesday, then came the massive lecture on Wednesday for showing up at office ultra late and that I 'failed to inform anyone'. Fine, my bad on that. I've been avoiding making my week any more miserable by not wanting to see her. And yet she still manages to try and ruin my Saturday by flinging shit on me at a quarter to 1PM. Technical enough for programmers to read and code from, and yet not too technical. uh... WTF?

After that was fun though. Went out with loli (whom I haven't seen in ages! still as silly as ever "Hey look, he's milking!" - garnered a WTFFF!!! from all of us), YK and ammar to watch Angels & Demons. Had lunch in Chili's since YK hasn't been there before. By the time we were done we were so fulll! So to prevent us from sleeping where we sat, we decided to go walkies.
The movie itself was alright. I liked the lead playing Vittoria Vetra - she somehow reminds me of Nigella Lawson. haha! I think its the hair and the shape of her face. And the fact I think they're both supposed to have some Italian blood in them. But she's pretty, and working in CERN (ultimate scientist heaven in Geneva, methinks?) is cool. Very cool.
spoiler ahead maybe? you've been warned.
ahem. The story, like most movie adaptations of books, was done alright, but always missed out the minor details that made a significant difference to the story. The biggest crime they committed though, was the final ambigram. I was abit shocked to see that they didn't use the Illuminati Diamond like they did in the book, but some other 'thing' that wasn't even an ambigram! For a secret society that divulged itself in the duality and symmetry of things, this was sure a huge anomaly. For Heavens' sake, it looked like something someone decided was a good design after playing a few good rounds of Kingdom Hearts/Kingdom Hearts 2 on their PS2. sheesh.
Haha which got me thinking, if I ever wanted a tatt, I'll get one of the Water ambigram. Calm and beneficial in many ways, the substance that supports all life forms - but provoke it and it will swallow you whole - coldly and mercilessly. It can have a heart of ice, and an exterior of similar toughness and kill you with it. Deadly, yet necessary. Man I sound violent.
I never liked Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon, but he did a decent job I guess. In a weird way the actor matched Langdon's personality (because while they had the capacity to be intelligent, they just weren't very prominent - in terms of actual character).
The one guy that stood out the most to me, was the next leading character - Ewan Mcgregor as Il Camerlengo. Haha because he was swathed in the priestly robes, he did kinda remind me of Obi-Wan. I agree with Ammar when he said "I expected him to pull out his lightsaber anytime now.." The Force is strong in that one. That was HILARIOUSS!! But he played his part really well, right up to the end. Good casting call on this one.
I shall not comment on the outfits of the Swiss Guard and the Cardinals - just in case I get lambasted for no apparent reason. All I'll say is that they were colourful, yet.. slightly ridiculous.
Oh but the sculptures were so beautiful. So, so beautiful. The movie was like historical eye candy. I would definitely want to visit if and when I have the chance.
