The morning shift wasn't as tiring; well, it never really is anyway. So the morning went fine, nothing drastic to report.

During my afternoon break I managed to meet up with cw, ty, yk and jon. Went to char chan teng for a drink, and the place was freaking jammed packed with people. But of course, it WAS new year's eve and the crowd was beginning to build up already, which also meant that the gradual horror just sitting there imagining what the evening shift would be was also building up at an exponential rate.

The evening was much much much much busier - after all, it ain't new year's eve for nothing. Especially hearing Bard go "Ha ha ha matilah engkau semua... padan muka!" in jest to which we all would just... give her an exasperated look and move on to some table or the other calling for something. By 7pm the entire place was packed to the brim like a can of sardines - all tables in all sections A-C (I should be able to remember the table numbers by now) were fully seated, no spaces left for the steadily growing waiting list. As the night grew, things gradually got more confusing, frustrating, hectic and tiring all at once.

Awhile later Lin decided to show up and hang out with her friends who were having dinner there. The fact that she told us she was occupied for the night thus not being able to work for the evening shift and there she was, chatting with her friends practically made us want to choke her (which I -did- XD)

As 10pm was closing in I spied ty, cw and yk from the corner of my eye. Looked abit to the left and I saw the nakamas holding up some shirts. "Funny they haven't met yet", I thought at the time. Awhile later when I looked back again they had combined forces and were now whipping up cameras aimed at me. A wild bunch of people (6 is enough, thank you very much) taking photos in front of a restaurant was just.... O__o and I had the rest of the restaurant staff staring at me wondering whether I knew these maniacs. I thought I was gonna get it from Vince for dragging a bunch of crazies and scaring the customers or some crap like that. Luckily all I got was just stares. XD

After I got off work, seeing the press conference waiting for me I sought an escape route. Thank goodness they knew nothing of the other exit =D So there I went, and I was hoping to run into the bathroom to change but damn even the toilet's packed with people. And you have no idea how pleasing it is to see all of them engrossed watching for someone who wasn't even there. I just regret not having a camera at the time. So I thought of staring at them even longer and having my moment of smugness until cw let out a squeal-screamlike sound and all of them turned to face me.

What ensued was an attempt to disrobe me (fine, no one wears robes around a shopping mall) but just trying to take off my jacket was a molestation attempt on its own. T____T but I survived. And onward we went to the new year concert where the countdown and the hanabi were going to be.

After I finally found a bathroom which wasn't infested with new year-goers and got out of my shirt, we persuaded both reeis and el to change into their shirts aichan bought them. They got HappyTreeFriends tees which were adorable to look at! Now if only aichan wore her shirt (she has a purple one) with the squirrel on it they would really look like homies of a gang XD or a purple squirrel clique~

North as a band wasn't anything to shout about, so most of the time we were just acting crazy and snapping photos of everything and nothing (I remember photos of a coconut tree... -wait, it was a palm tree- being taken) and just crapping with cw and yk who refused to be associated to cw's insanity (not like she can be otherwise, which is a very entertaining factor in her, which again is a good thing) while ty went off to snap photos of something else (inclusive of climbing up the platform where the stagelights were positioned to get a good view earning himself the title of 'monkey'. imo he'd make a very starved one fit to appear in horror movies of twisted experiments)

The fireworks were amazing. Just a pity I couldn't see the ones from the Curve/Ikea/Ikano side. They definitely lasted longer than the ones in 1u, but I'm not complaining. I loved the ones that had an initial yellow spark, then out came the blues at the end of the spark. The only drawback was that from looking up for too long my neck was starting to ache, so I followed el's move; to lie down and watch them. Now that's a good view. XD

I can't believe they decided to wait for after the fireworks to start their gig. By 'they' I'm referring to the local gig Pop Shuvit which is really a good band. I have faith in the Malaysian English rock scene although I'm not an ardent supporter of it. I mean, after seeing Deja Voodoo Spell and Pop Shuvit and Jason Lo it makes me happy to think that they do rock!

Didn't stay too long though, so we started walking back - a full 20mins to my house, and on the way back... surprise surprise, we saw Penny, Rachel and Yenling! I guess they were on their way back to Yenling's house. So we walked back with them - having our group now extended from 7 to maybe 14 people walking back together. Now how's that for company?

Back at my house, we started drinking the Cointreau and Absolut cw bought. Mixing them with fruit juice was a saver cause it can get damn strong, especially for people who don't have very good alcohol tolerance. Yk was already really red from taking a few sips of it, and needless to say cw was also getting more unhinged than the usual dose (come on, they were continually testing her with those balancing acts people do on the trapeze and the math integration questions) and aichan had this sudden urge to do some math questions while drunk. @_____@ talk about new. Ty as expected wouldn't go beyond a third of a glass, I suppose he'd make a really good chaperone. Had to forcibly take the bottles of liquor and stow them in the kitchen before anything unwanted happen to the already lightheaded people. Reeis watered my keropok udang making them pretty soggy (you're forgiven) and cw was walking around my house making really silly statements while ti wondered who it was making such a ruckus in the middle of his DoTA game he decided to take a peek out the door just to catch yk and ty leaving.

Had abit of fun mutilating my sofa bed cause it wouldn't go all the way down to make it a proper bed, by the time which we gave up. At first I was supposed to drive aichan and el back, but I was starting to get lightheaded, so I was really relieved that reeis' dad was ok with driving them back. Crashed after that.

Still feeling abit stoned after I woke up, and the first thing cw and I discussed was about forgetting to make new year's resolutions. Damned. After sending her to the bus stop, I was thinking to head over to aichan's place for lunch but my parents caught me and off we went to Pantai for some seafood. I miss sitting down to lunch with my family, it doesn't happen very often (it's usually a weekend deal) and we were gorging most of the food. I guess it was just gluttony (by now most people should know my brothers and I have something about food which is just... *I'm feeling hungry already >_<*)

Had my mom drop me off at aichan's where we spent the rest of the afternoon watching the super-depressing (but contains many potential yaoi scenes) kenshin movie. Yahiko is so much more cooler now compared to the durian headed brat he was and Kenji is cute XD

The new year's shift was pretty busy too but nothing will be as bad as new year's eve. I didn't know that Elvin and suyi had already left (their last day today) and was intro-ed to a new part-timer who had worked there before and who (according to Sam although he was pretty heartbroken to know that she's waay older than he was) is pretty.

Came home where mom saved some of her macaroni for me. Ate it up cause I missed eating it and ti was drinking some water where he just decided to choke at the moment he was walking behind me and spluttered and choked, covering me in water+amilase.

And so that was my new year's and its eve. Happy new year to all that I love and care for!
