a day with reeis
Reeis came over today. We spent most of the time when we were in my room correcting a drawing of mine, discussing about LE, trading (she lent me…bleach and American Gods) among other things.
Joined my parents to go have lunch @ the Curve, and had an Indian lunch at some colonial-styled restaurant.
The 2 comments that came out of her mouth: “OMGWTF I have never heard (insert Light&Easy tune here) being played in daylight” AND “Expensive layout…”
When she came out of the toilet, she said to me, “They have a golden basin in the toilet!!” with much enthusiasm. Out of plain curiosity, I asked her to show me. Wow. It was actually there. And I want to steal the mirror, the frame is very nice.
The food was good too~ they served dal in a golden bucket-like thing... The cutlery was in the same league as the basin in the toilet, all golden and of the same design. Except for the dal, the rest of the dishes (I don’t remember what the name of the dishes are; they all sound alien to me, but my mom knows them like she’s eaten them all her life. Must be one of the things that you learn if you grow up in the Indian quarter of town) like spinach puree with goat cheese, lamb curry, naan, briyani rice and green curry (this was abit awkward amidst the Indian dishes X3) were addictive. The prices are the kind that would result in an evidently lighter wallet after (of course, this is nullified if you use a credit card).
After lunch, we spent most of our time @ Borders, browsing 2 interior design books.
Book no.1 was on designs of clubs and bars around the world. There were bars constructed entirely out of ice, an oriental-styled one in the middle of New York, a very retro one in Shanghai, one that looked like a garage somewhere in the European Union, among the many very very drool-worthy interior designs. Some really sucked, though. And surprise, surprise, out of all the international bars and clubs featured, there was an amazing 8-page illustration & review on Zouk KL. *applauds* XD I’m amazed. I admit, Zouk from the outside is worth a look, but abit plain inside. Could used better seating designs. And the view of KL from Zouk windows (can I even call them that? It’s more like a big hole) is like looking out from a cave, or hidey-hole of sorts. Just the kind of view you can expect from a studio on the ground floor.
Book no.2 was on ‘simple Asian living’. It was a lot of wood and had a minimalist theme. What disagreed with me were the religious relics. Bleargh, they looked out of place, probably because they were made out of stone, which seemed to clash with the wood and nature feel. *shrugs* and from the photos, you had to live in a jungle to be able to reproduce the calm and easy feel, which is virtually impossible for people who mostly live in a concrete jungle. Had a quick flip, since we were supposed to meet my parents @ 3pm.
On the lower floor, we found the mangas, and something more amazing. A kuroneko-sama HAT! X3 it’s the kind which sakaki designed for the class café during the school festival. It would be so nice for ai-chan…XP
I bought some stationery, and a corduroy jacket (which had quite abit of lint – I hope the washing removes them). I wonder if the brown one was better. Too late for that now~ but I love it all the same. ^___^
