tying up loose ends

Let me finish and add a wee bit more on the *observe the lecturer!* series.

*observe the lecturer!* #3
The macroeconomics lecturer, Mr Wan looks like the generic aging taxi driver. Talks to mostly the students in the first few rows cause they’ve got no choice but to be attentive for fear of incurring his wrath (which I think is practically nonexistent, but I guess you never know when it comes to people; they’re so unpredictable). You want senile, he’s pretty much got it. I don’t mind the slides, I’m just bothered by the rather soft voice he uses in a 75% monotone which doesn’t keep my attention where it’s supposed to be. So I catch myself reading the slides, or listening to the 3 Tans conduct small talk. The guy’s a pretty tolerable character, I just wish he’d stop trying to promote the subject like he’s trying to sell some supermarket product. And I do hope he tries harder to exert some sort of control over his class; goddamn it can’t you hear them having their own agenda 6 rows behind me when I’m actually bloody trying to learn something I know nothing of?! Aaaaaa~~!!

Oh, which reminds me of the 3 Tans. None of their surnames are Tan, and the founder is not even a Chinese. How cool is that? Fai has a mini afro, jinn’s hair got spiked up and the final Tan I met yesterday @ the audit-mock-discussion thing.

Mrs SUEEEE!!! Save meeee~!! Wtf is wrong with Mr Loe? He doesn’t even look like he knows what in the sam hill he’s talking about, let alone know who he’s talking to! If the macroecons lecturer is slightly boring, he’s EXTREMELY boring! I don’t hate database though, it’s nice cause it wasn’t too difficult when Mrs Sue was teaching. =D and man, even to some extent Ms Elsa was better – at least there were more people like the comp science people for company and we’d be semi-trying to pay attention cause there’s jon who’s actually absorbing most (I’ll give Jon some credit, he’s human too!) of what she’s teaching. That counts for motivation. With Mr Loe, he must be related to some blood-sucking relative. It’s a draining and trying experience to sit there for 15 minutes, let alone an hour. Here’s the clincher; I get 3 frigging STRAIGHT hours with him on Thursday. Why, why, why! aaaaaaa!!!!

“He’s good @ reading slides. I think he’s got a PhD for this.” – Alvin, 2006

“Why must lecturers who teach in 3.13 & 3.14 behave so similar?” – Calvin, 2006

“Hey, even I can lecture; I can even recite what he’s gonna say next!” – Darren, 2006

*observe the lecturer!* #2.5
Mr Bhelkhatir (hah yeah I got his name from an email he mass sent with material to look at over the weekend) is so fun! XD More than once he asks those questions with pretty obvious answers which are just fun to answer to get little praises from him, like: “Very good!” “Excellent!” “Very nice!” “Yes, that’s good!” which is pretty uplifting (all with ze Frenchy accent, of courze). Which cave has he been holing himself up in? He shoulda switched with Ms Mylini, I’m sure it’d be more amusing (and less strenuous) to puck up Java. Not that Ms Mylini was a bad teacher, I guess she’s more of a person who believes in ‘tough love’ or whatever it is you call it. I mean, he teaches like he’s teaching preschoolers. Which makes it even more amusing & funny! Oh, one thing I realized; he’s not just a Mr, he’s a Dr! @_@ whoaaa~!

“You know, when he says all that stuff like “Excellent!” “Very Good!” and stuff, it makes me feel so appreciated~ like he acknowledges my existence! ” – Calvin, 2006 (on his little praises =D you must be somewhat deprived, dude. But I agree with you nonetheless~)

“The answer’s so -duh- la!” – Darren, 2006

Bobby: No I do not daydream about this lecturer. *rolls eyes* I have other better things to think about. XD

so far the score is as follows:

sem1: 2 senile & 2 amusing
sem2: 3 senile & 1 amusing

*excludes econs tutor (both micro and macro) cause I have same tutor for both semesters. Mr Val is a great tutor; he’s super nice and his manner of talking & providing explanations is very addictive to listen to, and most of all, makes sense!*

I will survive! よくがんばります!X3
