night lights
Logging in from hongkong~
Today went shopping for stuff, bought a pair of jeans, a coat, and gloves~ useful when I go to Japan spring next year. ^_^ Or whenever I go to a country with colder climate~
If I had to use a word to describe today, it would be.... euphoric. Today had to be the first time I saw a shop actually selling original jap cds, not those cheap copies from taiwan. XD I didn't buy any yet though, cause those I saw were pretty old, or were singles that easily cost HK$80 (not something I'd readily spend my money on; I'd rather buy a j-pop album or an anime/game soundtrack). Oh yeaaahhhh, asahiya bookstore in sogo ROCKS! XDXD OMG it's waay cooler than kinokuniya, cause the selection there's veeryyy huuuuge~ but the prices are about the same if I were to order it in kino KLCC, so I got the titles that looked interesting and noted them down for future references. Some that really caught my eye were:
ibara no ou book 4 inclusive of a figurine (about 800yen)
school rumble (600-800yen)
cowboy bebop illustrations ~the wind~ (I sooo wanted to buy it there and then, but then it would cost the same if I bought it back home; 2800yen)
orange (it's an artbook, forgot the artist - 3600 yen?)
NHK ni youkoso! (ooh, another manga by the mangaka of goth- 600-800yen)
yakitate!! japan book 15 (XDXDXD look who's on the cover~ kazuma azuma! yay! 650yen I think)
air gear book 8 (XDXDXD ooh ohgreat is oh so great!- 680yen, or somewhere close)
bleach 2005 calendar (1600 yen)
hagaren 2005 calendar (1800yen)
ecole du ciel book 4 inclusive of figurine (about 600-800yen)
FFXI 4koma collection2 (it just looked so kawaiii~~ If it wasn't this one even the anthology would be great- about 800yen)
yotsuba to! book 3 (omgomgomgomgomg!! I'm so happy the manga's still going- 650yen)
@_@ just trying to list the hoards and hoards of manga I saw there would drive me crazy. So I think I'd better stop here, or I might just spend the next 2hours thinking what other manga I would like to have...T_T now the only ONLY only gigantic hurdle is the funding. oh well, I'll just take it one at a time.
That aside, the city's night lights are great; Went to Tsim Sha Tsui for dinner, then down to the harbour just to check things out. From here you can see the buildings on the opposite decorated with plenty of bright lights; most of them with the regular 'merry christmas' and the figure of santa. As it was by the harbour, the smell of salty sea-water filled the air as the cold crisp night breeze blew by... temperature at night wasn't as cold as I thought it would be. Even though forecast says about 19-22 celcius I could still walk around without a coat or hat.
If I had to choose my favourite mode of moving around hongkong, I'd still say by foot or train. I love the subways, the bustle and the crowds. But if and only if I'm not being bugged to catch up with other people. It's nice, this feeling of being alone and unmoving in the middle of everyone else's busy life. Makes you feel like the world is still moving and you're there to watch it all happen.
