Big Day Out

It wasn’t the easiest thing to wake up at 630am (or rather 700am) after going to sleep at 3am. And that’s after returning from Luna Park at about 2am and skyping with my parents until 3am. @_______@

Item no.1: Arthur’s Seat.

Don’t ask me why they call it Arthur’s Seat, it just is, okay… There’s a green chair that says its Arthur’s Seat, and there’s a whole tower to it which is also called Arthur’s seat. I sense an identity crisis.

We didn’t stay there long though, it was time to go to Sorento so that we could catch the ferry in time to get to Dandenong. Had fish and chips which was more like chips and fish. The chips were nice and hot and all, but the fish was mostly flour which tasted blarghedy. And anyway, how much chips could you possibly eat?

Item no.2: Ferry to Dandenong

The ferry was nice, it took away some of the motion sickness that I was experiencing on the bus.

Let me say it now: I hate long trips on buses.

Item no.3: bus breaking down on the highway

Yep, it’s exactly as it says. Our bus broke down so we ended up watching Toy Story from start to finish, and were about to watch the Toy Story 2 but someone protested… so that was the end of that. Most people slept while some (like us) ended up playing chor tai ti at the back of the bus with Lex, Byron & Surekha. Ken plays really well, the moment he sat in for Byron he just kept winning. Damn. >__>

And there’s the idiot Arjun acting like he tried to do something productive.

Item no.4: dinner at Caulfield

Thankfully we didn’t sit by the side of the highway forever, and by the time the other bus came we just headed straight to Caulfield for dinner. I loved the dinner XD Probably cause we were all pretty damn hungry by the time, and hearing Byron suggest a very real possibility that the food might all be gone when we reach wasn’t a very welcoming prospect.

After dinner was the fun part.. we did some bush dancing. To put it simply, it is probably equivalent to square dancing. Yeah, with the fiddles and all. The musicians were a band of 3, one violinist, one guitarist and one percussionist. They were teaching us how to dance some dances, which was initially fun cause at least we knew what we were doing.

We danced a dance or 2 fine, after that we mostly danced the “WTF?!” dance. It is called so because of the 5 minutes the music was playing, we spent (collectively) 4 minutes 30 seconds yelling “What the fuck are we supposed to do now?!” But yeah, that was fun.

Definitely the best way to end orientation XD
