the red scooter

I’ve never even been to any clubs before, and so I thought Red Scooter would be like a Zouk or something, located on a major street (in this case in St. Kilda the main street would be Fitzroy Street) overlooking the beach.

Boy was I wrong.

It’s actually quite hidden, in the midst of a housing area, near a cemetery and we used the back door! Well if it’s the front door I wouldn’t be really surprised either. At first I was thinking, “What the hell is this place..” but on entering the actual place itself…

“Whoa..”

That was all I could say.

It’s really a neat place, with a huge chair on the left, sitting areas, and only like 3 tables set. I was thinking, “This definitely ain’t enough for all of us, there’s almost a hundred or so people here!” So we started off by having free drinks (I don’t know what the red one is, but it tastes like cough syrup, which if you don’t know, tastes like crap) so I opted for the champagne instead which was sweet and bubbly and everything else that champagne should be~ Pretty soon the place was packed and YK, Serena and I were feeling pretty lost in this place. Actually, we felt like little kids who were really under-dressed for the event. Everyone was wearing stunning tube dresses, halternecks, heels, makeup, did their hair and everything else that we usually do when we go to prom. So yeah, it was a major shock for us.

Eventually though I guess I made myself talk to someone before we started to feel too bloody awkward. I know for a fact that Wendy is really good at socializing, cause soon enough she chatted up a group of Mexican exchange students while we (meaning YK, Serena and I) were just agreeing that she’s really… interactive, shall we say? Not in a provocative sense.

Saw Young (who’s a friend of Siri’s and is from South Korea) and talked to her. Turns out that we really have a lot in common (or at least a lot of what we could relate to), like how she likes Roald Dahl, Johnny Depp, Tim Burton and Danny Elfman! @___@ Whoa I really wasn’t expecting this. And the one that really blew me away is that she really knows what she liked about it and is able to talk in detail about all of them… Soon after we saw Nikki (who’s from Netherlands) and we were all making small talk and talking about how country cultures are different… You know how it is when everybody is from everywhere else and we all want to know something new. Soon after Derrick found us and yeah it turned out to be a pretty fun time talking to all of them. Since clubs are clubs and aren’t really meant for talking (cause the music and the point that everyone else is talking pretty loudly so that would mean we’d have to talk to each other just as loud which is just damned annoying) we ate. XDXD

The finger foods there are really meant to make you hungrier.. Let me see, I ate some shrimps and fried seafood. Well at least that was what I remembered. And I also remembered that I wished they’d let us really eat dinner cause I was starting to get really hungry.

The magic words “Dinner is served” really made all of us perk our ears up because, like I mentioned earlier, we observed how there were only 3 tables set. They pulled back the curtains, and voila! There was the next 8 or so tables to which we quickly grabbed somewhere to sit. Shared a table with the Mexican students Wendy chatted up and there were 2 other girls from Netherlands (one Indian, one Chinese) who are in their last year of business, so they’re most likely studying in Caulfield.

Dinner was great! Potato salad, more green salad, roast chicken, beef patties, and a vegetarian cake-like dish I think. I think almost everything was eaten, cause I remember a good deal of plates being empty within a half hour.

After that was when most of the people either hit the dance floor or the bar. Bought a white wine from the bar, then spied some chocolate cake and lemon cheesecake going around so I took some to eat too~ the chocolate cake was better cause they put abit too much lemon in the cheesecake making it that bit too sour.

Mom called abit later that evening, and she was shocked/surprised/somewhat scandalized that I’m at a club, but stopped freaking after I got her to understand that it was a university event. Even guama asked what I was doing there XD

And that was that I guess… the event ended at about 9pm. Since I’m supposed to leave for Gippsland tomorrow it meant that I couldn’t have followed YK down to his place where they were gonna play drinking games.

Damn.
